No Snoogling Here!

This is for mommies-to-be. When I was pregnant with my first child, I remember a salesman trying to sell me the full body pillow (see right) for pregnant women.
I wasn't sure, considering I'd never been pregnant, and how would this guy know? So I settled for the Boppy Cuddle Pillow (see left). It seemed to serve the point, only I'd wished I had a long pillow for behind my back. (You'll understand this when you are about 20 weeks or if you've had a kid!) Since I had already bought the Cuddle Pillow, I didn't want to buy the full body pillow, so I just rolled up some blankets behind my back. It worked and I was cozy as a kitten for the rest of my pregnancy. Or at least as cozy as you can get carrying around an extra person inside your belly.
When I got pregnant again, I thought I should go ahead and get the full body pillow, so I ordered the Snoogle. I was so excited about getting to use it, but when I slept with it for the first time, I was a bit disappointed. I'm a picky pillow person. The Snoogle, as well as the Boppy Total Body Pillow (see bottom right), eliminate the need for a pillow. That may appeal to you, but it was not working for me. Also, you are so situated in the body pillow, it's hard to move around and turn over. I know you're supposed to sleep on your left side, but we all know you can't do that all night. Ever heard of bed sores? I felt like my left hip was killing me when I stayed in the Snoogle. I've since reverted back to my small Cuddle Pillow and some blankets behind my back. It's not very glamorous, but neither is pregnancy. So get used to it.

Oh, so if you still think you want a Snoogle, I will sell it for cheap!

Mr. Clean is F-I-N-E

I was inspired tonight by a friend who said she'd noticed I hadn't posted in a while. Ok, maybe it's been 9 months, but I appreciated it so much that I decided to find something to write about. This is for you, Ansley. But you probably already knew about this!
Mr. Clean Magic Eraser is AWESOME! It really works. Maybe I'm a little behind in the times. I don't really get out much, but I discovered this last summer. These seriously work. I've used the original, which works, but the Extra Power version does last a little longer.
My 3 year old never wrote on the wall when she was 1 or 1 1/2 or 2. But her 3 year old defiant mind decided this fall that it was ok. Or was she testing me? Luckily for her, the Magic Eraser erases marker, crayon, pencil, and pen off the wall.
Maybe your dog cuts corners-it removes smudges on door frames. Maybe you're a messy cook like me- it removes food splashes around the stove, etc. Or maybe there are mysterious fingerprints on every surface 3 feet and under-it removes almost anything, and with ease.
I guarantee it works and I guarantee that you'll get carried away cleaning with it.
(I have heard from a friend that it leaves marks on darker painted walls, so you may want to avoid those.) http://www.mrclean.com/en_US/magic-eraser-extra-power.do

My new favorite thing

About a year ago, I posted about Shout Color Catchers. Let me reiterate; I love this product now. I've found that it saves me time and energy from trying to separate clothes by color. With a 3 year old who sometimes decides she's not potty-trained :), it is nice to just throw stuff in the wash during the day and then run it later, not worrying about what's inside. They are a little pricey, but there is a coupon in each box. I find that it is worth it to be able to wash freely!
